TV Is good for You

How TV is empowering the women of India

Central argument:

TV is a quick solution to educate women in India, who may get no to little education.
It would help them to change their views on children and spousal violence.

It’s certainly a fact that some things changed in the last couple of years. Women in India have more rights nowadays. But what changed it?
I don’t think the TV alone is responsible for this change. As Joel Waldfogel mentioned in his article it is proven by research that women’s opinions changed between 2001 and 2003. The TV may have played a part in it but I don’t think it’s the only one. In the last eight years even more has changed and women have become freer in their own homes. We have to see that most men get education and that they influence their wives in one way or the other. If a man changes his view on certain issues, Waldfogel talks about, it would certainly change the women’s view too. The world has become more modern and more and more is accepted in Indian public. I think that in the last eight years another big change found place in homes all over India, that the violence almost disappeared and that women are being treated better.
But he is not completely wrong; TV is an important fact on changing women’s lives. There is a wide range of channels and some of them can be educational. By watching TV shows, which show self-confident women, that have their lives in their own hands and that would totally freak out if their husbands would hit them, the Indian women may be change their views. But is it good for those women? Do they even want a change? Some may believe that it is just part of their culture and one shouldn’t interfere with those kinds of issues. You can say that men are just in power in Indian households, because that is part of their culture. And if the women are happy with their lives like that, why change anything? Why?
I know why. I think that every human being has right for justice and education. Women and men, no matter what culture, should have the same rights in their families. Men should not be hitting their wives just because they want to have a sandwich or just because he doesn’t get what he wants.

Friendship

Friendship is something weird. It can come so quickly and give you a really good feeling... But with one word or one act everything can get destroyed. I constantly feel this need of keeping up with all my friendships I have, but it’s hard. The constant fear of ruining everything you’ve got with all the people you care about is really annoying and keeps me awake sometimes. But you have to look at the positive side of it and even though this fear is constantly bugging me it’s totally worth it.
The worst part is when you have to let go and that is my case. When you have to leave friendships behind that you worked for so hard. When you don’t have a choice, when you just have to go, when it’s out of your hands… That’s the worst case… My case…
But as I said before you have to look at the positive side of it. I don’t regret anything, because life without these happy moments of friendship would be worthless. I am grateful for every second I get to be with the people I care about.

Awesome Song

One of my favorite titles lately.

What makes this song great?

It's not the lyrics not the album Artwork.
No, it's definitely the music. Because I listened to this song so much, I know the lyrics and every time I hear it it makes sing along and jump around because it gives me a good feeling when I jump around and play air guitar. In moments like these I can imagine myself on stage in front of thousands of people, just going crazy with this song. That's what makes this song just... awesome!
